Five Tips To Grow Your Business With YouTube

– YouTube gets 1 billion unique visitors every month.
– Over 6 billion hours of video are watched each month on YouTube – that’s almost an hour for every person on Earth
– 100 hours of video are uploaded to YouTube every minute
– Mobile makes up almost 40% of YouTube’s global watch time.

There are plenty of people who make a solid living from YouTube videos, and their are plenty of businesses doing a stellar job on YouTube.

Pretty much any business can create content for YouTube.

Here are four tips to grow your business on YouTube:

1. Set Goals

What do you want your videos to achieve? For example, do you want to drive traffic to your website? Increase your sales? Answer questions?

It’s important to establish the goal first and then work backwards from that point setting a realistic plan in place to reach it.

Include a call to action at the end of your video. This should be directly related to your goals. So ask people to comment or subscribe or head over to your website. Be clear.

2. Promote it

Make sure to add your videos to your company blog. Give each of your videos their own blog post so your loyal customer base can see them.

Post the video on your social media channels. We have seen great results from videos posted on Facebook. To reach a wider audience, promote your post. This is an inexpensive way to reach more people. You can even target your promoted post to reach a specific audience demographic.

Use tools like the adwords keyword planner (tutorial here) and Google Trends to see what people are searching for around your keywords. This will help you figure out what kind of topics will be popular.

4. PR

Do some good old fashioned PR. Call up blogs and industry specific publications and let them know about your videos. Allow them to post your videos on their own channels. This will increase your reach and get you valuable back-links.

5. Advertise

If you have set aside a budget for advertising online, consider advertising your video content using Google Adwords for video.

There are different ways within YouTube that you can promote your video, from in stream ads which appear before or after a different YouTube video, to ads that appear when people search for your keywords.
