This is a good example of very cost effectively implementing a one offf referral program using a low cost marketing method (free for vodafone) to reach out to your customers and ask them to introduce their friends to your service. By doing so everyone gets something. Your friend gets a good saving, you get a reward and Vodafone some new customers.
Could you learn from this and swipe this strategy in your own business? I’m sure most businesses could. Obviously in order to do so you would need to keep an up to date database with your customers contact details and permission to text them. But if you have that then this could be a very smart and fast way to generate some new business.
